Cucusoft Net Guard is a handy and reliable application designed to monitor bandwidth usage, pinpointing the most resource consuming applications and processes.
Cucusoft Net Guard is recommended for users who have restricted bandwidth or pay-per-traffic Internet connections, notifying them when a preset limit has been reached.
It is a time and money saver, able to monitor on-going traffic in real time, acting very friendly on system resources. It also includes a speed test that helps you assess the real power of your Internet connection.
Cucusoft Net Guard runs in two different ways: in a widget-like interface that sits near the system tray that shows a summary of the apps and services that are using the most bandwidth, as well as in an actual GUI that comprises detailed information about the broadband usage.
The main window is split into several tabs, the first of which shows general statistics of the bandwidth consumption for the current month, visually illustrated with the aid of a graph.
Up next is the Net Monitor, which allows you to see the processes that are using your Internet Connection, organized by received / sent speed and the corresponding amount of traffic. Using the right-click menu, you can end any of the processes listed here.
The next tab displays a summary of all the active connections, accompanied by details such as protocol, local and remote IP and the adjacent port.
You can perform a quick speed test from the next tab or generate an electronic statement for a custom period of time using the last of the tabs.
If you’re interested in further options, the Settings window provides possibilities to enable period usage statistics, which will measure the bandwidth only for a part of the day or to activate the notification feature, which alerts you when a certain bandwidth amount is exceeded.
In conclusion, Cucusoft Net Guard works advantageously for users who have a restricted Internet connection, helping them to reduce payments and to streamline bandwidth allocation.
