TagScanner is a software that can rename files of the MP3, OGG, MP4, M4A and other formats, according to their tag information.
The user interface of the program is user-friendly. You can get started by adding a folder to the list by using the file browser or the "drag and drop" method.
Thus, you can set the file name format (e.g. album, artist, title, track), change the case, set standard values and enable transliteration, restructure the files on disc based on tag information, as well as trim file names for maximum length.
You can also preview results and songs, use a tag editor (including embedded art and lyrics), a batch tag processor and list maker (e.g. edit a template, write unicode signature, enable HTML compatibility).
Furthermore, you can change the sorting order (e.g. file name, artist, track, full path), use the "Undo" button and a search function, save a playlist, change the interface language, enable automatic checkup for updates, configure proxy settings, set custom genres and templates for folder names, and more.
TagScanner uses a low to moderate amount of system resources, includes a comprehensive help file and completes a task in a reasonable amount of time (you are not notified with a popup message or with a sound).
We haven't come across any problems during our tests. This software is simple to use even by beginners and we strongly recommend it if you want to properly organize your music files.
