Plato DVD Ripper is an application that enables you to convert DVDs to several video formats, including AVI, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, FLV and RM.
The user interface of the program is simple and intuitive. You can import a DVD from disc or from the hard drive by using the file browser (the "drag and drop" method is not supported).
So, after you have selected your preferred output format, you can configure the video type, size, quality, frame rate and aspect ratio, as well as audio type, channels, quality, sample frequency rate and volume.
After you choose the output destination, you can proceed to the next step in order to select the DVD audio track and subtitle, and optionally set the starting and ending position (so, Plato DVD Ripper is also a DVD splitter).
In addition, you can preview the entire DVD in a media player and use basic tools, such as pause and stop, navigate back and forth within the track, and adjust the volume.
Furthermore, you can select the audio track and subtitle, go to the title, root, subtitle, audio, angle or chapter menu, as well as set Plato DVD Ripper to automatically shut down the computer when conversion is finished, and others.
The program takes up a very high quantity of system resources and finishes a task in a reasonable amount of time. No errors have popped up during our tests. The image and sound quality in the output videos is very good.
However, Plato DVD Ripper froze once during conversion and we had to restart the application. Also, the demo version has some hard limitations. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend this tool to all users.
